XC Opens League Action with Win Over Nichols
Cross Country opened the league portion of their schedule with a 19-39 win over Nichols. Mike Stadler continues to lead the squad finishing first overall in 17:35. Nichols took second placed followed by a red wall of Ryan Borrello, Spencer Frangou, Dominic Davis and Nate Klimtzak taking 3rd-6th places respectively. With 5 men in before Nichols' second runner the win was secured. Max Sturniolo and Tom Pivarunas displaced as the 6th and 7th men in 9th and 11th place, Cam Bush was the 8th finisher for the team and 13th overall.
Competing for the JV squad in finishing order were Nathan Powers, Kyle Roth, Donnie Wittschack, Nathan Riechenberg, Evan Sedota, Teddy Reid, and Collin Heftka. Freshmen Sedota and Heftka completed their debut races and have both seen major improvements from August to early October.
The Red Raiders are back at Como Lake Park for the second week of league meets vs Canisius and Gow 10/9 at 5:15pm.
